Black Soldier Fly farming in Ghana

Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) is one of the fastest-growing sources of animal protein in West Africa. The larvae convert organic waste — food scraps, brewery waste, manure — into a protein-rich feed ingredient in a matter of days, making it a cheap and sustainable alternative to imported fishmeal and soybean meal. We farm BSF in Ghana over several sites and supply larvae, eggs and frass to farms across the country.

Our products — the cheapest BSF prices in Ghana

  • Dried BSF larvae — GH₵22 per kg. Around 40–45% crude protein and high in calcium. Ready to feed or mill into poultry, catfish, tilapia and pig feed. Long shelf life.
  • Wet (fresh) BSF larvae — GH₵10 per kg. Live/fresh larvae straight from the farm — ideal for fish and poultry feeding on the day of collection.
  • BSF eggs — GH₵10 per gram. For farmers and hatcheries starting or expanding their own BSF colonies.
  • BSF frass. The nutrient-rich residue from the bins — a ready-made organic fertiliser for vegetable and crop farming.

All prices are negotiable, especially for bulk and regular orders.

Why feed Black Soldier Fly larvae?

  • Cheaper protein: fishmeal and soymeal prices keep rising; BSF larvae are produced locally at a fraction of the cost.
  • Better growth: high protein (40–45%), calcium and lauric acid improve growth rate, egg laying and immune health in poultry and fish.
  • Sustainable: larvae are grown on organic waste that would otherwise rot or be dumped — good for the farm and good for Ghana.
